PinkNews Futures will be coming back in the spring, with a whole host of opportunities for employment and networking. We can’t wait to welcome you all back for a week of exciting sessions! Until then, out friends at Out in Tech have a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking for a bit of career guidance at the start of this year.
Out in Tech U’s Mentorship Program pairs LGBT+ youth aged 17-24 with tech professionals from Out in Tech’s membership.
Out in Tech U is designed to support those who identify as part of the LGBT+ community as they begin their careers in technology (in both technical and non-technical roles). Anyone between the ages of 17-24 is welcome to apply and no specific academic background is expected or required! Those selected to participate will be paired with a mentor who works in the tech industry to work on career development, technical training, and professional networking.
The Spring 2021 cohort runs for 8 consecutive weeks, starting March. We’re accepting expressions of interest now!
Time Requirements: 3 hours per week
Deadline to apply: Jan 25 2021.
If you know of someone who would benefit from being mentored, please share the link with them.
Limited research exists on trans experiences today. MRSpride and Outvertising have teamed up on an ambitious new research study to understand what it’s like to be trans in 2021. Click here to complete their survey (NB. no personal data is captured).
