Stephen Hands

Expertise: Sport and Leisure, Health and Nutrition and Computing

Stephen Hands has been writing articles, blogs and website content for clients for four years. His attention to detail and thorough research of topics has brought him consistent return work. Born and educated in Oxford, Stephen left school with three A-levels including English Literature before joining a business which manufactured sports and leisure equipment. Initially gaining experience in departments including Accounts, he went on to work for over 10 years as a computer systems manager, building a thorough knowledge in IT, including desktops, printers, servers, software, database administration, networks and more. After re-locating to the South West of England he continued within IT as a consultant for two years, a subject on which he has since written numerous articles and blogs.

Sport and leisure have remained a constant feature throughout this time and is another area for which Stephen has written many articles for clients. A dedicated runner in his spare time, with over 20 years experience and competing to a good cub standard, the sport has allowed him to develop an interest and knowledge in topics which complement his running. These include health and fitness, as well as food and drink. Nutrition plays an important role in running, therefore insight around food, growing food and the household kitchen and garden appliances required to obtain the best results are important to him. His Achilles heel is his fondness for real ale, an area where he can also show a level of expertise!

In downtime Stephen is a keen reader of all styles of literature and writes short fiction and flash fiction stories, something which helps develop his overall writing skills. When time permits he also likes to travel around the UK, indulging his love of the great outdoors and all things nature, as well as a passion for British history.
