Lindsay Lohan is back in the film-making business – and she has her heights set on superhero-stardom.

The former teen icon spoke to Forbes to mark her first film lead in almost a decade – a Netflix-released festive rom-con titled Falling Into Christmas.

In the film, streaming now, Lohan plays an amnesiac who (shockingly) finds love, purpose and the true meaning on Christmas, following a skiing accident.

Discussing the role, she also teased what future projects might interest her.

“I think I’m always the kind of person that I see what comes and take it as it comes, wherever the scripts lead me,” Lindsay Lohan said.

“I love doing rom-coms, so that’s always something that I’m going to look for and do a ton of when the time is right, but there’s definitely others – I’ve never done an action film.

“I would love to do something with Marvel – [I’m] just seeing what comes my way and I’m open to different roles.”

The actor’s next confirmed project, however, is another rom-com as part of a two-picture deal with Netflix, entitled Irish Wish.

Lohan is also an executive producer on Falling Into Christmas, a role which she says she thoroughly enjoyed; could Hollywood have a new producing powerhouse on their hands?

“I was like: ‘Oh my god, I actually have more of a say on what happens,'” Lohan said of her producer role.

“I always pay attention to all the little details on-set, so to be able to have that kind of role now was really exciting for me.

“Also, the editing process and all the end after the movie is being put together, I really got to be fully involved in that. I threw myself into it and it’s a different role that I really love and I’m not looking to give up any time soon. I’ve been on sets my whole life, so I feel like I have that to give now, so I want to use it.”
