It’ll be in support of their 15th studio album, Memento Mori, due for release in spring 2023, but the group are yet to announce an official date.

During a press conference in Berlin where the band previewed a piece of music from the upcoming LP, Martin Gore said: “We’re quite far into it now, the actual recording process.”

Frontman Dave Gahan added that Depeche Mode had begun writing the material “a couple of years back”, before eventually reuniting in the studio this summer, according to NME.

Gore said after founding member Andy Fletcher passed away in May 2022, “we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning”.

It’ll mark their first release since 2017’s Spirit and will coincide with their world tour, which includes a headline festival set at Primavera.

Fans can also expect to hear some of their biggest hits including “Personal Jesus”, “Never Let Me Down Again” and “Just Can’t Get Enough”.
