Drag Race UK Ru-veals season 4 queens including TV star and first trans woman to compete

The BBC has Ru-vealed the cast of Drag Race UK season four.

Twelve brand new queens will enter the werk room for the new season, including star of Channel 4’s Drag SOS, Cheddar Gorgeous, and the first trans woman to compete on Drag Race UK, Dakota Schiffer.

RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton will also judge bearded queen Danny Beard, London’s “afro punk princess” Baby, Birmingham legend Black Peppa and the “world’s premiere Geri Haliwell impersonator” Just May.

The full cast of queens is: Baby, Black Peppa, Cheddar Gorgeous, Copper Topp, Dakota Schiffer, Danny Beard, Jonbers Blonde, Just May, Le Fil, Pixie Polite, Sminty Drop and Starlet.

Ahead of Drag Race UK season four arriving on September 22, here’s a look at the cast of queens in more detail.

Baby (South London)

Known as London’s afro punk princess, this 25-year-old drag queen “felt in her spirit” she had been chosen for the upcoming season of Drag Race UK

As the youngest out of five siblings, they soon picked up the name “Baby” and are now ready to bring “pretty, punk and Black” drag to centerstage.

Black Peppa (Birmingham)

Originally from the Caribbean, in recent years Birmingham has been home for Black Peppe and she and believe it has one of the best drag scenes in the UK.

With their love for spicy food and Peppa Pig they picked up the name “Black Peppa”. They are ready to bring the “weirdest ideas” and “making the impossible a reality” to the upcoming season.

Get ready to see “splits, dips, death drops, and high jumps off the bar” with Black Peppa’s tricks this season.

Cheddar Gorgeous (Manchester)

“I’m a living spectacle, cultural icon dressed as a Mancunian busy bee” is how Cheddar Gorgeous introduces herself.

Referencing Cheddar Gorge, they describe their drag as “otherworldly and ethereal” and have been performing drag for over 20 years from LA to Hong Kong.

She’s “excited for the challenge” and ready for whatever is thrown in her face.

Copper Topp (Cheltenham)

Dubbing themselves the “feel good ginger of drag”, expect the unexpected with their camp and physical performance style.

Copper Top is inspired by Victoria Wood, Julie Walters and, of course, The Cheeky Girls and is ready to bring together her “dip”, “splits” and “comedy” to the world.

She wants to represent all the “old fogeys” in the drag world this season.

Dakota Schiffer (Sussex)

Dakota Schiffer is already making herstory as the “first trans girls to walk through the doors of Drag Race UK” but that is not all.

Combining a character from an early 2000s cartoon, Dakota, and ’90s icon Claudia Schiffer, Dakota Schiffer was born.

Her number one Hollywood icon is Sharon Tate and she wants to embody the ‘60s and ‘90s supermodel era in her drag.

Danny Beard (Liverpool)

Danny Beard is a “sassy, shady, singing, cartoon clown” who wants to throw the rulebook out the window.

Singing is their strength and most of their shows include a banger from Adele and a big Queen number with a sprinkling of interactive comedy.

With Leigh Bowery as their inspiration they are ready to make Drag Race UK herstory as the first bearded queen.

Jonbers Blonde (Belfast)

“I’m a showgirl on a Saturday and an absolute binfire on a Sunday” is how Jonbers introduces themselves.

They have toured the world with the likes of Melanie C, Years and Years and Jessie Ware and love all things fashion and performance.

Inspired by the ‘70s and fashion runways, Jonbers is going to bring their storytelling to the stage alongside their Irish flute.

Just May (Essex)

As “the world’s premier Geri Halliwell impersonator”, Just May puts the ginger in Ginger Spice.

Although being Geri Haliwell takes up a lot of their time, she also brings a sense of humour and her ability to fix a wig “in 10 seconds flat” to the table.

Although she can’t sing, she says that won’t stop her being crowned.

Le Fil (Yorkshire)

Le Fil is the “all singing, all dancing Chinese pop star” Drag Race has been waiting for.

Describing themselves as “androgynous, Asian and sensation”, they want to break genre and gender in the drag world.

Le Fil’s shows are an extravaganza, with sculpture, couture, and stories intertwined into music. Previously, she has travelled the world with their idol Mel C from Spice Girls.

They can sing, write songs, act, dance, style and create and are ready to show the other queens everything they have got to bring to the table.

Pixie Polite (Brighton)

Pixie has always loved “Disney and Tinkerbell” and as a polite young woman, the name just feel into place.

Drag has given her the confidence to be herself and transform into her most “fabulous version”. Pixie describes themselves as “a many tricked cow of the camp variety”.

They plan to be the most talented and most stunning queen to blow the rest of the competition away and shake her booty all over that Werk Room.

Sminty Drop (Lancashire)

Sminty Drop is a “sexy cyber supermodel from outer space”  with a look inspired by a combination of Anna Faris, Megan Fox, a Bratz Doll and Doja Cat.

You may recognise her from her 8.3 seconds in a Duran Duran music video.

She got her name after constantly dropping mints on the floor while kissing boys.

She’s ready to “slice, dice and chop up the runway” and rise to the top in the upcoming season.

Starlet (Surrey)

Originally from Johannesburg, since moving to the UK Starlet has discovered the vibrant drag scene and embodies all things vintage Hollywood.

Her name is a homage to the stars who came before her, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Lane Turner, Grace Kelly and more.

Drag is starlet’s truest passion and she is ready to show her competitive side in season four of Drag Race UK.
