RuPaul confirms Drag Race UK season five and fans are already gagging: ‘Best news of the day’

Casting has officially opened for season five of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, just days after the teaser dropped for UK season four.
In a tweet from the show’s official Twitter account, Mama Ru says: “Calling all UK queens. Casting for series five of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is open – officially!
“We are looking for charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent, so if you’ve got what it takes, contact us now!”

Fans are – understandably – going wild for the news.
“SERIES 5 QUEENS COME THRU,” one wrote.
“Best news of the day. A fifth season of Drag Race UK,” another said.
Others fans tagged who they wanted to see on the upcoming season, with one writing: “PAGING @ladybushraOG,” and another giving Birmingham born/ London based Yshee Black a shoutout: “@ysheeblack GWARN GAL.”
Other Twitter users were quick to point out that fans don’t even know who’s on season four yet, posting these takes under the casting call:

The window for applications is only 12 days long, so if you feel like joining The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney, Krystal Versace and whoever snatches the crown on season 4, glue that lace down and get those submissions in.

Drag Race UK season four will kick off on BBC Three at 9pm on Thursday, 22 September.
