Manchester Pride 2022 is taking place this month, and this is everything you need to know including tickets, dates and parade details.
If you’ve got post-Pride blues following the likes of London and Brighton Pride, then there’s another big celebration just around the corner.
The hugely popular Manchester Pride will return on bank holiday weekend between 26-29 August to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.
Previous years have featured a festival stage separate from the city’s famous Canal Street, with headliners including Ariana Grande and Yungblud.
However this has received backlash from guests who have argued that Pride is turning into a music festival that is putting profits ahead of people.
This year, Manchester Pride will return to its roots with a lineup that’s been co-designed with Manchester’s queer communities, featuring a host of diverse performers across the weekend.
This will all take place across three stages around Canal Street, with Drag Race UK stars, Manchester-based drag artists, Black Pride MCR and a Queer Women’s takeover among the acts.

Can I still get Manchester Pride tickets?

Yes, tickets for the Gay Village Party are available to buy from Ticketmaster. You can get weekend tickets or day tickets for Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday.
For the weekend wristbands, tickets are priced at £35.50 for general admission, £106 for Gold VIP or £157 for Diamond VIP. While day tickets are priced at £30 each.

Where does my money go?
Manchester Pride is a charity and the cost of a Gay Village Party ticket helps the event deliver a safe, community pride celebration.
They have confirmed that £2.50 from every ticket purchased goes directly to the Manchester Pride Community Fund to help LGBTQ+ good causes in Greater Manchester.

What other events are taking place?

Alongside the Gay Village Party, there’s other important events taking place across the weekend.
This includes The Parade, which will see tens of thousands of LGBTQ+ people and allies march together for equality, while thousands more will line the streets as spectators to watch the parade of colours. This will take place on the Saturday of the weekend-long celebrations.
Applications to take part in The Parade have now closed, but everyone is welcome to watch it.
There’s also The Candlelit Vigil, which provides a moment of reflection to remember those we have lost to HIV/AIDS. The Vigil also presents an opportunity to stand together unified against the discrimination and stigma that LGBTQ+ people still face today. This is free to attend and takes place in Sackville Gardens and closes the four-day festival on Monday evening.
