Gays Against Groomers founder compares trans-inclusive doctors to Nazi ‘angel of death’

Gays Against Groomers founder Jaimee Michell compared gender-affirming doctors to the Nazi ‘angel of death’ during an interview with far-right news network OAN.
The self-described “anti-indoctrination” pundit said during a broadcast that “what’s happening would put Josef Mengele – I think that was his name – you know, the Nazi doctor. This puts him to shame.”
She then pushed the false claim that gender-affirming healthcare professionals are using “an entire generation of children as lab rats for this sick ideology”, while also claiming that her multimedia coalition Gays Against Groomers is a “roadblock and a threat to them”.
Trans adolescents are not permitted to have gender-reassignment surgery in the US, nor are they given any permanent hormone treatments until they are more than 18-years-old. Puberty blockers are administered with parental permission and guidance but are fully reversible.
Media Matters LGBTQ+ program director Ari Drennen posted the clip on Twitter, explaining that “Mengele was known as the ‘angel of death’ at Auschwitz. Michelle appears to know nothing of shame”.

During the interview, Michell also claimed that declaring right-leaning political views is more stigmatised than coming out as LGBTQ+ in today’s society, saying: “Coming out as conservative is much harder than coming out as gay now. It’s almost looked down upon if you don’t come out as gay now.”
Gays Against Groomers was initially created around June 2022, according to the creation dates of their several social media pages. They claim to fight against the “transitioning and medicalisation of minors”, while also attempting to dismantle drag queen story and other LGBTQ+ events that involve children.
“Our community that once preached love and acceptance of others has been hijacked by radical activists who are now pushing extreme concepts onto society. Specifically targeting children in recent years,” the organisation’s about page reads.
The group seemingly equates the phrase “groomers” with anyone who pushes the validity of trans people and those that aim to protect trans youth, while also making false claims that trans adolescents are being “indoctrinated” by the “alphabet religion”.
The phrase is often used as a slur towards LGBTQ+ identifying individuals in an attempt to falsely equate their identities with paedophilia.
“Our mission is twofold,” Michell said during the interview. “It’s to protect children, obviously, first and foremost, but also to reclaim our name. I mean, our community has been completely hijacked by these radicals that do not represent us in any way.”
But several users seem to think otherwise. One Twitter user replied saying: “Ahh yes, listening to trans people is the same as forcing medical experiments on prisoners,” while another said: “Gender-affirming is healthcare, not eugenics.”
