Britney Spears’ fiancé updates fans after couple announce ‘devastating’ miscarriage

Honoree Britney Spears (L) and Sam Asghari attend the 29th Annual GLAAD Media Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on April 12, 2018 in Beverly Hills, California.

Britney Spears’ fiancé Sam Asghari has thanked fans for support after the pop superstar suffered a miscarriage.

Spears, 40, confirmed on 14 May that the couple had lost their “miracle baby” just a month after announcing she was pregnant.

“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby in the pregnancy,” the couple said in a joint statement posted to Spears’ Instagram.

A few days later and Asghari has shared an update with fans.

“We have felt your support,” the 28-year-old fitness trainer wrote in an Instagram Story Monday evening (17 May).

“We are taking things positively and moving forward with our future.

“It’s hard but we are not alone. Thank you for respecting our privacy. We will be expanding our family soon.”

Britney Spears had been prevented from getting pregnant

Britney Spears’ pregnancy announcement came five months after she was freed from her almost 14-year conservatorship.

While in the confines of the allegedly abusive arrangement, Britney claims, she was prevented from removing an IUD contraceptive device.

“I wanna be able to get married and have a baby,” she said in June 2021.

Reproductive rights activists at the time likened it to “reproductive coercion“.

She announced that she was expecting on 11 April, opening up about her previous pregnancies and the perinatal depression she experienced during them.

Spears has two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden, 14, whom she had with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

After sharing the news her pregnancy loss, Spears and Asghari said: “This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, however were were overly excited to share the good news.”

“We will have a miracle soon,” Asghari commented.
