They feature custom colourful artwork by Maggie Johnson that “celebrates self-expression and self-discovery”.

This includes the brand’s popular Sidewalk Surfer, which has been transformed into the Pridewalk Surfer for the collection.

It’s a slip-on shoe that features a colourful hemp lining and rainbow embroidery.

There’s also the Sling ST, a gender neutral makeover of the brand’s Yoga Sling 2 sandal.

Sanuk has also confirmed a $10,000 donation to Pacific Pride Foundation “to support the LGBTQ+ community and to commit to creating safe and happy places for all”.

Plus an additional $3 donation per pair sold will go towards the organisation’s educational programs, counseling services, LGBTQ+ competency training, community events, advocacy efforts and more.

The brand says: “Sanuk is committed to amplifying voices of historically marginalized communities and advocating for a more inclusive future – footwear and beyond.

“This collection allows us to show support for the greater LGBTQ+ community, while also highlighting the incredible work the Pacific Pride Foundation team is doing along the Central Coast as they strive to foster a welcoming and healthy community.”

It follows up a number of Pride Month releases including Dr. Martens, who have reimagined their classic 1461 shoes with a subtle rainbow design against the monochrome white base.

Queen Mariah Carey herself has also released her annual Pride collection, inspired by her album Rainbow, while lingerie brand Bluebella have enlisted the help of Drag Race icons Brooke Lynn Hytes and Miss Vanjie for their campaign.
