A reporter covering the red carpet at the Met Gala absolutely stole the spotlight at the iconic event after she served up true glamour.

Attendees were invited to embody America’s Gilded Age at the Met Gala this year, but fashion fans were disappointed when many celebs failed to produce the over-the-top, dramatic looks that are normally served.

While the uber famous faces disappointed, fans were stunned when Genesis Camila Suero took to the red carpet to host exclusive coverage of the iconic event for Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo.

Suero, who was Miss New York USA in 2018, showed other attendees how it was done in an elegant fairytale gold beaded gown by Lucia Rodriguez.

Suero paired the stunning dress with an stylish updo, statement earrings and refined makeup.

She truly embodied the theme of the night, and it wasn’t long before Suero amassed legions of fans who were in disbelief that she was just reporting on the event, and not the main event herself.

Suero truly owned the Met Gala red carpet, and she shared a little bit about her special night in a post on Instagram.

She said she was “grateful with all the opportunities that have landed my way”, including her ability to do Telemundo’s special red carpet coverage at the Met Gala.

“I am beyond blessed with all those who’ve made this magical moment a full reality,” she wrote.

While there were numerous disappointing looks at the Met Gala, some celebrity guests killed this year’s theme. Blake Lively, who was a co-chair of this year’s event, dazzled with a two-looks-in-one optical illusion dress.

Variety captured the sweet reaction Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, had as Lively unveiled her look. The Deadpool star lovingly smiled and cheered on his wife as she changed outfits on the Met steps.

Lizzo also went for the drama as she showed up in an hand-embroidered gold and black gown by Thom Browne, which she paired with a gorgeous gold choker necklace. She quickly shut down the Met Gala red carpet with a blistering flute performance on a $55,000 instrument – truly an iconic moment.
