Jamie Lee Curtis opened up about her daughter’s cosplay-themed wedding as she revealed her hopes to officiate in a custom World of Warcraft costume.

The Halloween star announced that her 26-year-old daughter, Ruby Guest, is transgender in a moving interview last summer. She also announced that Ruby would be tying the knot with her partner and that she planned to marry them.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday (March 22), the Knives Out star shared her excitement about holding the wedding in her back garden.

Jamie Lee Curtis said that her daughter and her partner had picked a World of Warcraft costume for her.

“It’s a game, I don’t know,” she admitted. “She’s an admiral. I went on Etsy and wrote ‘Jaina Proudmoore costume’ and up came a woman, had the costume.

“I said, ‘Great.’ We exchanged communication, I paid her a nice sum of money for this.”

The Hollywood icon then explained that the seller had since messaged her to say that the costume had been delayed as it was being produced in Russia, which has a “supply chain issue” due to the ongoing war with Ukraine.

However, the 63-year-old insisted she would still get the WoW costume in time for the wedding.

Ruby, 25, works as a video editor for a YouTube gaming personality and came out to her parents – Curtis and comedy director Chris Guest – last year.

Curtis’ interview came weeks after she shared a heartfelt birthday tribute to her daughter Ruby while condemning “discriminatory” anti-LGBT+ bills emerging across the United States.

Posting a photo of herself in a t-shirt bearing the trans flag, Curtis tweeted: “Happy birthday Ruby. I am proud 2 be your mother.

“Am sending support 2 all trans families across the US targeted by conservative legislatures & I VOW 2 use my freedom of speech 2 SUPPORT my child & ALL trans children trying 2 live FREELY as who they are.”

Curtis added in an Instagram post: “This country was founded on freedom. A profoundly simple idea that everyone living here should be free to dream and achieve what they want freely…

“Now politicians are proposing that parents providing gender-affirming care for THEIR OWN children are felons and deserve prison time. These laws are discriminatory, unjust, and anti-American. Freedom of expression includes gender expression!”
