Yeah Yeah Yeahs have announced details of a headline UK tour – and tickets go on sale soon.

The group will play their first headline shows in nine years with dates planned in Manchester and London.

They’ll perform at the O2 Apollo on 5 June and Brixton Academy – where they debuted back in 2002 – on 7 June.

Fans can get their hands on tickets for the tour on 18 March via Ticketmaster and See Tickets.

The group announced the live shows on Instagram, saying: “We are coming to lend our light to dark ages and holy s**t are we ready to play our hearts out for you!!

“Yeah its been 9 years since we’ve graced your club stages! Yeah we’ve got some tunes so fresh and so NEW to try out on you!”.

The group also encourage “dress up” at the shows and add “let’s not wait another decade to see each other again”.

They’ve also confirmed that Dry Cleaning and Anika will support them at their London show, while English Teacher will open at their Manchester date.

It’ll mark their first headline dates in the UK since 2013, which was in support of their most recent studio album, Mosquito.

Since then they’ve performed at the likes of All Points East Festival but haven’t released any new music.

Lead singer Karen O told NME in 2020: “It feels like time to have something new out there. But that’s yet to happen, so we’ll see how this year goes.”

It looks like the band have confirmed new music in their announcement, and fans can also expect their greatest hits including “Heads Will Roll”, “Maps” and “Gold Lion”.
