Grimes splits from Elon Musk after accidentally confirming they had another baby, Exa Dark Sideræl

Grimes and Elon Musk split again after revealing they got back together and had a baby

Grimes and billionaire Elon Musk have split up again after the shock announcement that they had welcomed a second baby secretly.

The musician stunned fans when she admitted to having a second child after a Vanity Fair interviewer heard crying in her house; she told the magazine that she had welcomed a baby via surrogate after a difficult first pregnancy.

Grimes described Tesla CEO Musk as her “boyfriend”, adding that “we’ve always wanted at least three or four (children)”.

However, shortly after the interview was published, Grimes, 33, then announced on Twitter that she and Musk had split again, following a break-up in September last year.

She wrote: “Me and E have broken up *again* since the writing of this article haha, but he’s my best friend and the love of my life, and my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now.”

The musician added on Twitter that while she had announced her second child, she “didn’t mean for them to find out about my daughter, so please respect her privacy as I’d love her to be able to live as private of a life as possible.”

Grimes’ new baby’s name is unusual

Grimes’ and Musks’ trend of naming their offspring rather unusually continues, with the new baby named Exa Dark Sideræl, or Y for short.

Grimes and Musk’s first child is named X Æ A-12, or X for short.

Speaking about the new baby name, Grimes told Vanity Fair that Exa is a reference to the supercomputing term exaFLOPS, while Dark is “the unknown”.

She added: “People fear it but truly it’s the absence of photons. Dark matter is the beautiful mystery of our universe.”

Sideræl is “the true time of the universe, star time, deep space time, not our relative earth time”.

The musician also discussed her new album in the interview, Book 1, a space opera about a lesbian AI relationship.

Grimes said that Book 1 is partly inspired by conversations with Musk that she is a simulation.

“We keep having this conversation where E’s like, ‘Are you real? Or are we living in my memory, and you’re like a synthesized companion that was created to be my companion here?” she told Vanity Fair.

“The degree to which I feel engineered to have been this, like, perfect companion is crazy.”

Explaining the project on Instagram last year, Grimes said: “It’s a space opera about CLAIRE DE LUNE, an artificial courtesan implanted in a simulation that is a memory of the AI creation story on earth from the brain of the engineer who invented AI.”

She eventually meets an AI demon called Dark Matter, and they end up falling into a “lesbian romance due to the fact that they are the only two fully AI beings in the universe”.
