Destinee Lashaee dies aged 30

TV personality Destinee LaShaee has died aged 30, as confirmed by the My 600-lb Life star’s heartbroken family on social media.

LaShaee’s brother, Wayne Compton, shared the sad news on Facebook on Tuesday (9 February) as he wrote an emotional caption alongside a collection of photos of the pair.

“No no no I’m sorry,” he wrote. “I accept you for who you are, I accept every flaw that come with you, I’m sorry you felt alone, I’m sorry you felt you had nobody else to turn too.”

Her death came around the one-year anniversary of her sister Destiny’s death.

Destinee LaShaee first appeared on season seven of My 600-lb Life in 2019 and was the show’s first trans participant.

The reality star won the hearts of fans after speaking candidly about her struggles with her weight and depression.

She explained how she had used food to “dull the pain” from her mental health struggles and difficult childhood, and spoke candidly about the trauma she endured after her brother died suddenly in her arms from a blood clot.

Following the show, LaShaee lost over 500lbs. She continued to share her journey and was open about her mental health on social media.

As seen by the Mail Online, Lashaee recently shared a post on Destiny’s Facebook page, where she wrote: “To everyone who genuinely love and support me, I love you and I’m grateful to have touched millions of lives and hearts around the world (sic).

“Living my life with so much pain for so long I’ve come to realize that God makes no mistakes. I’m grateful for my journey and all I’ve been through. I don’t regret a single moment. Love you all.”
