Lady Gaga fans might be devastated over her Oscars nomination snub but the singer has issued a classy response praising all those who managed to get a coveted nod.

After weeks of online campaigning by her dedicated “monsters”, it seemed almost certain that the 35-year-old would land a Best Actress nomination for her work as Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci.

Alas, it wasn’t meant to be and the Star is Born star made it clear that she was delighted for everyone who did receive a nod from the Academy.

The hitmaker wrote on Instagram: “To all the nominees this year, congratulations on all your hard work, dedication, your nomination and YOUR magic – you all deserve major recognition for what was a truly beautiful landscape of performances and accomplishments this past year.

“Your dedication during COVID, your huge hearts, and your ability to tell amazing stories is a gift to the whole world during what is for many a very hard time. Congratulations my friends. Bravo!”

The “Bad Romance” hitmaker shared the kind words in a post that saw her celebrate the single nomination her film received after makeup artist Frederic Aspiras was nominated in the Best Makeup and Hairstyling category.

“I could not be happier for a man I call my brother, who I’ve worked with for the last 15 years, Frederic Aspiras, for his nomination in Makeup and Hairstyling for House of Gucci,” she wrote. “Frederic was magical, precise, and dedicated months leading up to shoot and during filming. He prepared dozens of wigs for months and months, and did at least a year of preparation.”

The singer continued: “He’s a living genius and Freddie, we are all so grateful to just even be near your talent, creativity and generosity of spirit.

“You continue to show your artistic DNA, your plan, your vision, and your deep connection to your family that drives you to excellence at all times. I love you, I’m rooting for you.”

Kristen Stewart is now considered a frontrunner in the Best Actress race after landing a nomination for her role as Princess Diana in Spencer.

She faces competition from Olivia Colman in The Lost Daughter, Nicole Kidman in Being the Ricardos, Jessica Chastain in The Eyes of Tammy Faye and Penélope Cruz, Parallel Mothers.

Belfast, The Lost Daughter, West Side Story, The Power of the Dog and Dune were among the big nominees on the day.

The Power of the Dog led the pack with 12 nominations, while Dune followed close behind with 10 nods.

The theme for this year’s Academy Awards is Movie Lovers Unite and the ceremony will take place in Hollywood on 27 March.
