Christina Aguilera UK tour: Pop icon to headline Brighton Pride and arenas in 2022

Christina Aguilera has announced a headline UK tour – and it includes Brighton Pride.

The pop icon will perform four dates this summer, including a headline set at Preston Park for Brighton Pride on 6 August.

Alongside the Pride appearance, she will also head to arenas in Liverpool and London as well as Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre.

It’ll see her perform her biggest hits including “Dirrty”, “Beautiful”, “Genie in a Bottle”, “Fighter” and “Ain’t No Other Man”.

Aguilera is well known for her support of the LGBT+ community, which supports her right back.

In 2002 she featured scenes with a gay kiss and a trans woman in the music video for her hit “Beautiful”, and more recently released a Pride collection in support of two pioneering transgender charities.

The gay icon was also honoured by the Human Rights Campaign in 2019 with the Ally for Equality Award, in recognition for her “tireless efforts for positive change”.

“Christina Aguilera is a living legend and a true LGBTQ icon who consistently uses her global superstar platform to share a message of hope and inspiration to those who have been marginalised simply because of who they are,” HRC President Chad Griffin said at the time.

She joins previously announced Brighton Pride Sunday headliner, Paloma Faith, while the full lineup will be revealed ahead of the weekend.

They will take to the main stage at the We Are Fabuloso festival, as it makes a much-anticipated return following a three-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
