The White Lotus star Lukas Gage wants to see more rimming on TV: ‘We should normalise it!’

The White Lotus star Lukas Gage sent the internet into a spin when he featured in a rimming scene on the hit show, and the actor wants to see way more anilingus on screens.
The 26-year-old, who played hotel staffer Dillon on the HBO drama-comedy, opened up about the need to normalise rimming on-screen during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live!
Speaking to host Andy Cohen about being the one to suggest tossing the salad for his now-infamous scene, he explained: “I thought we should normalise rimming. I think that ass eating needs to be talked about more. In the script it was ‘sex’, and we’ve seen sex on TV. Let’s have some ass eating.”
It appears the powers that be as HBO agree with the message as Euphoria viewers were treated to another rimming scene featuring Eric Dane’s character, Cal Jacobs.

Internet reaction was nowhere near the frenzy caused by Lukas Gage and his co-star Murray Bartlett after their ass-eating scene featured during a tense cliffhanger moment on The White Lotus while the program was airing in 2021.
The Euphoria actor previously spoke to The AV Club about the filmmaking process behind the final minutes of the show’s fourth episode, “Recentering”, which saw resort manager Armond (Bartlett) caught with his face deep between Dillon’s cheeks.
Lukas Gage explained that in the first draft of the scene Dillon and Armond were meant to be caught having full penetrative sex, but the pair thought they could find a more creative way to expose their characters’ tryst.
Together they pitched the rimming element instead – and series creator Mike White was fully on board.
“We said, ‘Wouldn’t it be more interesting if [Dillon’s] getting his salad tossed? I mean, how often do we see that on TV?’ I think it’s much more interesting and more jarring to walk in on.”
White Lotus is airing on HBO Max in the US and will arrive in the UK on 16 August on Sky and Now.
