The one-off concert will take place on 25 September and will see Audra take audiences through the Great American Songbook and Broadway’s greatest hits.
Announcing the show on social media, the actress wrote: “So excited to be heading back to London next year”.
Fans were excited about the announcement of the show, with one writing, “Oh My God!!! I have to go” and another said “JUST WOW”.
She has previously won coveted Tony Awards for her performances in Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin in the Sun, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess and Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill.
She’s become the most awarded star in Broadway history, with more performance wins than any other actor, and is the only person to win all four acting categories.
As well as her theatre work, she is also an Emmy and Grammy Award winner, and has appeared in shows including The Good Fight and Disney’s live action adaption of Beauty and the Beast.
In 2020, during lockdown, she joined Meryl Streep and Christine Baranski over zoom to celebrate Stephen Sondheim, while drinking booze in their bathrobes.
The trio delivered a rendition of “The Ladies Who Lunch” in the iconic video, which instantly broke Twitter with fans saying it was “gay rights”.
Next year, Audra will be joined by Andy Einhorn and the 40-piece London Musical Theatre Orchestra at the one-off London Palladium show.
