Drag Race UK star Bimini Bon Boulash did not hold back as they slammed the Tories in a scathing speech regarding the ongoing Christmas party scandal.

Boris Johnson and his government are facing severe backlash following claims that up to seven gatherings were held by ministers at No. 10 last winter, while millions followed the strict COVID restrictions they had put in place.

Claims that a number of gatherings took place in Downing Street during lockdown led to outrage across the country, with Bimini among those to make their feelings clear at a United Kingdolls drag show in Manchester on Wednesday (8 December).

Taking to the stage at the event, which also featured fellow RuPaul’s Drag Race UK queens Tayce, A’Whora and Lawrence Chaney, the drag icon became the voice of the people with their impassioned speech.

In a clip captured by one fan, Bimini is heard saying: “[People] lost their family, lost their grandparents, missed birthdays, missed seeing their friend and their families because the Tories told us that we had to stay at home. F**k them.

“It ain’t one rule for them, and one rule for us. We, the people, need to stand up against them and tell them we’re not having this anymore. We are not being taken for mugs anymore.”

Judging by the rapturous cheers and applause from the crowd, it seems like a lot of people agreed with their statement.

One Twitter user shared the clip and wrote: “Bimini Bon Boulash saying it as it is in Manchester tonight. Just listen to that crowd ⁦@BorisJohnson⁩ #JohnsonOut”.

Bimini, who is a fan favourite from the second series of Drag Race UK, retweeted the clip and simply added: “Tories out”.

Hours later, they added: “I’m not condoning breaking health rules by the way. I’m condoning holding the government accountable for their constant lies throughout this pandemic.

“Have respect for each other, wear a mask and practice common sense. Point fingers at parliament not the people”.

The widespread public anger at Boris Johnson continues to grow further evidence emerges that gatherings took place at a time when the government was imposing lockdown restrictions last year.

The backlash began after leaked footage showed Johnson’s then-press secretary Allegra Stratton joking about a “fictional bash”. The video led to her tearfully resigning on Wednesday (8 December).

The prime minister said he was “furious” about the video and was forced to apologise for the clip, but he still denied a party ever took place.
