Desperate ‘ex-gay’ Milo Yiannopoulos flogs Virgin Mary statues on Christian shopping channel

Self-described “ex-gay” Milo Yiannopoulos has been spotted on a Christian shopping channel selling statues of the Virgin Mary.

In a video for Catholic news site Church Militant’s shopping channel, Yiannopoulos can be seen describing a Virgin Mary statue up for sale.

“There are some Marys where the face is unfortunate, they haven’t put in the work to make sure that she’s got just the right expression and features,” he says in a clip.

“This on the other hand, you can see at home it’s just, it’s just beautiful.”

The clip also sees Yiannopoulos selling a Virgin Mary medal, and a book of meditations on Mary.

Yiannopoulous once had a lucrative, if morally dubious, career as editor of alt-right site Breitbart. He was forced to resign his position in 2017 after making remarks that appeared to endorse paedophilia. He said a video of him discussing relationships between adult men and young boys was misleading, and insisted he does not support paedophilia.

Since then, Yiannopolous’ career has been in freefall. He lost a book deal alongside his Breitbart gig, and was later banned from Facebook and Twitter for violating hate speech rules. In 2019 he claimed that he couldn’t “put food on the table” after being deplatformed by the social networks.

“I spent years growing and developing and investing in my fan base and they just took it away in a flash,” he fold followers on Telegram.

“This 19k bulls**t here is not going to cut it.I can’t make a career out of a handful of people like that. I can’t put food on the table this way.”

Seemingly, he’s found a way. In May 2021, Yiannopolous, who reportedly married his long-term boyfriend in Hawaii in 2017, declared himself as “ex-gay”. He is now launching his own conversion therapy venture in Florida, which was recently the subject of protest by students at Penn State University.

He told the New York Post in March: “This (the clinic) has been the easiest thing to raise money for that I’ve ever done.

“There is an enormous demand for this among people who believe they’ve been led astray by – it sounds silly to call it this – but you know, the gay establishment.”
