Harry Styles makes surprise Marvel debut in Eternals as superhero with psychic orgasm powers

Harry Styles has made a thousand fanfics come true by reportedly joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The plot twist of the century was revealed Monday evening (18 October) during the Los Angeles premiere of the Eternals.

A Variety reporter claimed that the dangly earring-wearing icon plays a part in the upcoming Marvel film, seemingly confirming long-held rumours.

“Big reveal from #TheEternals premiere,” tweeted the publication’s senior film writer Matt Donnelly. “Harry Styles has joined the MCU as Eros, brother of Thanos.”

While Styles’ exact involvement in the film remains unclear, Variety‘s senior culture and events editor suggested he makes an appearance in the post-credit scene of the film. The “audience squealed,” Marc Malkin tweeted.

Eros, otherwise known by his alias Starfox, is the happy-go-lucky, womanising brother of Thanos, the power-hungry, misanthropic plotter played by John Brolin in the Avengers films. He is the youngest son of two Eternals, A’Lars and Sui-Lan.

The Eternals themselves are a race of immortal celestial aliens with superhuman powers who have secretly lived on Earth for thousands of years. In other words, Harry Styles.

For the hedonistic Eros, idle pleasure is king. He can often be found spending his days searching the galaxy for sex, romance and adventure.

As an Eternal, Eros has the ability to bend the cosmic energy around him, bearing superhuman strength, intellect, speed and can even fly by manipulating gravity.

According to the Marvel Database, he can also use his “psionic ability to stimulate the pleasure centres of the brains of people within 25 feet of himself” – something which we’re sure Styles’ fanbase can confirm.

The news that Styles, 27, is playing Eros left his fans stunned, sending them very much into a meltdown.

The hotly-anticipated Eternals film was finally unveiled to a physical audience at the legendary El Captain Theatre last night.

The film also features Marvel’s first on-screen queer family.

The recent trailer showed Bryan Tyree Henry’s Phastos, the first openly gay superhero in the MCU, his husband (Haaz Sleiman) and their child meeting Richard Madden and Gemma Chan’s characters.

Sleiman, who is openly gay, told Out that he felt “lucky” and “grateful” to be cast as the husband of Henry’s character because he felt that he could “humanise the hell out of it“.

“I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I feel like Marvel, they were very smart to cast me in it because I got to humanise the hell out of it,” Sleiman told the magazine.

“I got to humanise an LGBTQ+ family and show how beautiful they are.”
