Jamie Lynn Spears ditched by mental health charity after backlash: ‘We’re deeply sorry’

Jamie Lynn’s cursed memoir just took another hit, as a mental health charity rejected her offer to donate a portion of sales from the book.
Britney Spears’ younger sister will release Things I Should Have Said in January. It was originally titled I Must Confess, until criticism from Britney fans forced her to change it.
She had planned to donate a portion of profits to This Is My Brave, an anti-addiction and mental health non-profit. However, after complaints, the charity announced on Monday (18 October) that it is distancing itself from the Zoey 101 actor.
“We heard you. We’re taking action,” it said in a statement on Instagram.
“We are deeply sorry to anyone we offended. We are declining the donation from Jamie Lynn Spears’ upcoming book.”

This Is My Brave added that it had been “recommended to be a beneficiary organisation for the proceeds” of the memoir, but has “made the decision to decline the offer”.
Jamie Lynn’s relationship with Britney has been scrutinised since the singer delivered a bombshell testimony in court which saw her describe her 13-year-long conservatorship as “abusive“.
Jamie Lynn has, for the most part, remained silent on the atrocities Britney has suffered for more than a decade. She later stressed in a social media post that it “wasn’t [her] place” to speak publicly at the time.
She also suggested that she and her children, Maddie, 13, and Ivey, three, have endured “death threats” as a result.
Britney has hit out at her sister on social media on multiple occasions, criticising both the original title of her memoir and her decision to perform a medley of her songs at a 2017 awards show.
“I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes,” Britney wrote in July.
“My so-called support system hurt me deeply! This conservatorship killed my dreams… so all I have is hope and hope is the only thing in this world that is very hard to kill… yet people still try!”
Britney’s conservatorship is to be reviewed in November, with her lawyer confident the arrangement will finally be dissolved.
