Fox News bigot Tucker Carlson goes on ‘homophobic’ rant about Pete Buttigieg ‘trying to breastfeed’

Tucker Carlson mocks Pete Buttigieg on his Fox News show

Tucker Carlson has spouted more unashamedly bigoted nonsense, mocking Pete Buttigieg for taking paternity leave and claiming he is “trying to figure out how to breastfeed”.

On his show on Thursday (14 October), during a monologue on US supply chain issues, Carlson criticised transport secretary Buttigieg for taking time off after welcoming twins with his husband Chasten in August.

The US Department of Transportation told Politico that Buttigieg had taken four weeks “mostly offline”, and has recently been “ramping up activities”.

Carlson said: “Pete Buttigieg has been on leave from his job since August after adopting a child – paternity leave, they call it – trying to figure out how to breastfeed. No word on how that went.”

The Fox News host, who has become notorious for his anti-LGBT+ comments, was slammed online for his ‘homophobia’ and toxic masculinity.

Radio host Michelangelo Signorile described Carlson as having “a pathological obsession with homosexuality”, while journalist Brennan Leffler simply responded: “Cuz a real man neglects his children.”

Another Twitter user said: “Can stupid face Tucker Carlson be any more homophobic? What an insecure, disgusting, little shell of man. He will never, ever be a quarter of the man Buttigieg is.”

Ironically, Fox News offers employees paternity leave, an option that was recently taken up by Carlson’s colleague Todd Piro, who took six weeks out to bond with his new daughter.

Piro said earlier this year: “I cannot thank Fox enough for providing all fathers who work here with such a generous paternity leave.

“This experience has changed me in a profound way and in ways I won’t fully comprehend until my daughter is older.

“But for now – that smile coming from the crib each morning, immediately followed by morning snuggles – is what I will cherish the most. There is nothing better.”

Tucker Carlson has a long history of anti-LGBT+ comments

Fox News host Tucker Carlson, whose show is the most watched in all of US cable news, has an extremely long history of homophobic and transphobic comments.

Earlier this year, images resurfaced of Carlson’s 1991 yearbook when he was a senior at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, in which he is listed as a member of the “Dan White Society” and the “Jesse Helms Foundation”.

Dan White assassinated Harvey Milk, one of the first openly gay elected officials in the history of the US, while Jesse Helms was a viciously anti-LGBT+ former North Carolina senator, who once said: “Nothing positive happened to Sodom and Gomorrah and nothing positive is likely to happen to America if our people succumb to the drumbeats of support for the homosexual lifestyle.”
