Drag Race UK’s horror queen Charity Kase looks incredible as she poses with a new ‘cursed’ gin

Charity Kase teams up with Wildcat Gin for a truly spooky campaign.

Charity Kase is fronting a truly cursed campaign this Halloween, but looks incredible while doing it.

The Drag Race UK series three star has teamed up with Wildcat Gin to reimagine a gothic fairy tale.

The story is based on the legend of the cursed bramble bush, which is the inspiration for their new Wildcat Bramble Blackberry Gin.

The spooky look queen says she’s “always been attracted to the dark, twisted and macabre”.

Charity Kase believes that “drag and horror go hand-in-hand – from the Rocky Horror Picture Show to Beetlejuice, you can’t have Halloween without a little bit of camp”.

“The two genres pair perfectly and open up a range of worlds to play in and explore,” she adds.

As part of the campaign, Charity is bringing to life “Hallow’s Cat”, a story based on Captain Dudley Bradstreet, the ‘Patron Saint of Bad Behaviour’.

Written by award-winning author Jenni Fagan, and read by Drag Race UK star Charity Kase, the story reimagines Bradstreet’s encounter with the devil on the day he landed on the bramble bush’s prickly thorns.

The tale says that from then until now, “nobody should dare” to consume brambles after 29 September.

The bottle is priced at £21 and as it’s after the 29 September, with Halloween fast approaching – should you dare consume brambles in gin form?

Well, that’s up to you decide… the Wildcat Bramble Blackberry Gin is available to buy in the UK from Tesco. While the wider collection of Wildcat gin is available here.

Fans can stream “Hallow Cat” performed by Charity Kase on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube, as well as via a QR code on the gin bottle.

Charity Kase opens up about living with HIV

During an episode of Drag Race UK, Charity Kase revealed that she is living with HIV in an emotional conversation with Kitty Scott-Claus.

“I moved to London when I was 17. When I was 18, I was having a good time and I was on the scene. Then I ended up contracting HIV,” she told Kitty.

“It was really hard for me to process that at 18. I was still a child, you know what I mean?” she continued.

Charity Kase said she contracted “lots of other STIs” on the same night she contracted HIV.

“That’s really difficult because six years on, I’m still living with the after effects of one night where this guy took advantage of me,” she said.

She also said that she started doing drag as a form of “therapy” after she went through “a really dark time”.

Viewers praised Charity for opening up about her status, with one saying: “Charity Kase talking about contracting HIV & being undetectable is a much needed conversation in media.”

Another added: “Amazing to hear Charity Kase talking about her HIV, busting a load of myths and educating people!”.
