Fan theory about major James Bond character’s sexuality casually confirmed in No Time To Die
A short scene in the new James Bond film No Time To Die has casually confirmed that the Quartermaster – aka Q – is queer.
Many actors have graced the action-espionage franchise in recent years. Out actor Ben Whishaw has been an exciting addition to the Bond universe for three films as Q, the agent’s recurring gadget and tech specialist.
The new film No Time To Die has seemingly confirmed Q’s sexuality via a short scene that takes place inside the tech mastermind’s home.
In the film, Bond (Daniel Craig) and Eve Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) interrupt Q when he’s in the middle of preparing a meal for an intimate dinner date. Q tells the duo that he’s waiting for his date to arrive, explaining that “he”, his date, will be there at any moment.
Though there is no information beyond this, the scene does appear to confirm the fan-favourite James Bond character is part of the LGBT+ community.
Fans online were thrilled at the news that Q is queer, welcoming the beloved Bond character officially into the LGBT+ family with open arms.

Whishaw himself recently went on record that he wanted to see more LGBT+ representation in the franchise, adding he would love to see a gay actor take on the role of James Bond.
The gay star told Attitude: “I really believe that we should be working towards a world where anyone can play anything and it would be really thrilling if it didn’t matter about someone’s sexuality to take on a role like this.”
He added that there “aren’t many out gay British actors” but said Beauty and the Beast’s Luke Evans and Brigerton’s Jonathan Baily would be “ideal casting”.
“I mean, they’re both wonderful, and they’re both wonderful actors,” he said.
“I wonder if either of them would want to – because it’s not just the demands of the role, but it’s, like, the demands of being Bond in the world and what it symbolises and how it would change your life.”
No Time To Die is currently in theatres.
