Gamers can bag the Nintendo Switch console at one of its lowest prices ever ahead of Black Friday.

The gaming giant has reduced the price of the classic neon red and blue and grey editions of the Nintendo Switch to £259.

The cheaper consoles are available from Amazon here, while the official Nintendo website have them for £259.99.

The price drop has happened ahead of the arrival of the new OLED model of the Nintendo Switch next month.

The latest edition of the console will be released on 9 October with a current price mark of £309.99.

It features a larger OLED display at seven inches, double storage at 64GB in total, enhanced audio for handheld and tabletop play and a new dock with a wired LAN port – so you won’t need to rely on Wi-Fi for internet connection.

Earlier this year Nintendo released some special editions of the Switch console including a Mario red and blue version and another inspired by Monster Hunter Rise.

They also released a new blue version of the handheld Switch Lite at the same time as admitting they were struggling to keep up with demand.

During a Q&A summary published by Nintendo themselves they said that “demand for hardware continues to exceed our expectations”.

“Production has currently not caught up to this high demand due to the tight supply and demand situation for semiconductor materials worldwide,” they added.

But don’t worry if you want to get your hands on the discounted classic Nintendo Switch as it looks like the official website and Amazon have plenty of stock.

Typically customers can get cheaper gaming products during the annual Black Friday sales with consoles, games and accessories included in flash sales from Currys PC World, Amazon, GAME and more.

This discounted console is the ideal time to get your hands on a cheaper Nintendo Switch outside of those sales, where they’re often snapped up in hours or even minutes.

To shop the discounted standard Nintendo Switch console head to amazon.co.uk.
