Kathryn Hahn has delivered some iconic performances throughout her career so far, and it looks like her next project will be another to add to the list.

She has recently been attached to star as Joan Rivers in a new limited series for Showtime, and she’ll no doubt give the gays everything they want.

In the 2000s the actress was often the sidekick to Hollywood A-listers, from Cameron Diaz’s assistant in The Holiday to Christina Applegate’s confidante in The Anchorman.

But her talent meant she was regularly stealing the spotlight in her supporting roles, which has seen her go on to be the leading lady in shows like Mrs. Fletcher and I Love Dick.

More recently, thanks to her turn as Agatha Harkness in WandaVision, the Internet is falling more in love with Kathryn Hahn than ever before.

So with her upcoming roles in the Joan Rivers biopic and star-studded Knives Out 2, what better time than to revisit some of her greatest hits.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days was Hahn’s first film role, which saw her play Michelle Rueben. After her character goes through heartbreak it leads to Kate Hudson being inspired to date a man and drive him away in 10 days – and the rest is history. She revealed her awkward audition for the film to Entertainment Weekly, saying that her phone started ringing in the middle of a scene, so she answered it and improvised the moment into the audition. She added that her friend on the other line “thought I’d lost my mind,” but thankfully she still got the part and the improvisation is what makes her brilliant.

You can stream How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days on Netflix or rent/buy it from Prime Video.

Bad Moms

One of her more recent major film roles – and a hilariously iconic one at that – is Bad Moms. The film sees her star alongside Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell in a female-led, outrageous comedy. Hahn plays Carla, a laid back, sexually active single mother, who alongside Amy (Kunis) and Kiki (Bell) are fed of the pressures of motherhood, from PTA meetings to domineering husbands, decide to break free and become “bad moms”. The trio get themselves into some funny situations, including a drunken supermarket trip and it sees Hahn at her over-the-top best.

You can stream the film on Amazon Prime Video as part of its monthly subscription.

WandaVision

Earlier this year Hahn stole the show in Marvel’s WandaVision as Agatha Harkness, the nosy neighbour to Wanda and Vision who has an ulterior motive. Her role as the villainous witch gave her worldwide recognition and introduced her to new audiences. Plus she also received acclaim for the role, picking up an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. If your first exposure to Kathryn Hahn was WandaVision, firstly, where have you been?! And secondly welcome to the fan club.

Viewers can stream the WandaVision limited series as part of a Disney+ subscription.

Parks and Recreation

Another role where she stole every scene (there’s a recurring theme here) was her guest appearances on Parks and Recreation as Jennifer Barkley. The political whiz, who works with the best of the best in that world has delivered some iconic quotes including: “I’m just gonna go spend my time doing exactly what I wanna do – because I don’t have children!”. Despite only appearing in 11 episodes across the series run, she was always welcomed back by fans and we couldn’t imagine anyone else playing the role as excellently as Hahn.

The Parks and Recreation boxset is available to stream on Netflix.

Transparent

Transparent revolves around a Los Angeles family and their lives following the discovery that their parent is a trans woman named Maura. Hahn plays Raquel Fein, the ex-wife of one of the siblings and rabbi at the family’s synagogue. She originally featured in the show as a recurring character before being bumped to the main cast, for which she received an Emmy Award nomination. The cast also features Judith Light and trans actors Alexandra Billings and Trace Lysette. The show was finished up with a musical finale film after four seasons.

The entire boxset is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

I Love Dick

Hahn plays Chris in this adaption of the lauded feminist novel I Love Dick. Set in a colourful academic community in Marfa, Texas, it tells the story of a struggling married couple Chris and Sylvere (Kevin Bacon) and their obsession with a charismaic professor named Dick. The eight-episode series charts the unraveling of a marriage as Chris’s infatuation with Dick becomes articulated in un-delivered letters to him. They’re filled with sexually explicit desires that affect her attitude towards marriage, work and confidence. So if you’re a Kathryn Hahn stan then you need to add this one to your list ASAP.

The series is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Mrs. Fletcher

Another Hahn-fronted miniseries is Mrs. Fletcher, which explores a coming of age of Mrs. Eve Fletcher and her son Brendan, who is heading to college. Hanh plays Eve, a divorcée who’s undergoing a mid-life crisis as she realises she no longer wants to be her old self. She experiences a sexual reawakening and fulfillment that eluded her in her younger years by bonding with a younger man and his friends. It’s the perfect vehicle for Hahn who is a powerhouse in the role of Eve, alongside a supporting cast which includes trans actor Jen Richards.

The series is available to stream on Sky On Demand and NOW.

This Is Where I Leave You

Hahn is part of an impressive ensemble cast in This Is Where I Leave You, which features Jane Fonda, Tina Fey, Rose Byrne, Connie Britton, Jason Bateman and Adam Driver. It tells the story of four grown siblings who are forced to return to their childhood home after their father passes away and live under the same roof for seven days. Hahn plays Annie Altman who is married to one of the siblings, Paul. Their relationship is beginning to strain because they can’t conceive children, with Hahn delivering a funny, heartbreaking and human performance.

This film is available to rent or buy via Amazon Prime Video.
