Drag Race UK finally confirms start date and announces trio of girlband icons as guest judges
BBC Three has confirmed when Drag Race UK season three will start – and unveiled a trio of girlband icons as guest judges.
The official BBC Twitter account announced on Tuesday evening (7 September) that the season three premiere of Drag Race UK will air on the BBC iPlayer on 23 September from 7pm.
They join a stellar line-up of guests that includes Ota Mabuse, Matt Lucas and Kathy Burke, while RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr will return as full-time judges.
Speaking to the BBC, Emma Bunton said the Drag Race UK set was “full of glamour, talent and creativity”, adding that she loved all of the queens’ individuality.
The singer – who previously appeared as a guest judge on All Stars – said: “As soon as you’ve been around the Drag Race team you wanna be a part of it as much as you can!”
She added that her drag name would be Mrs Bae Bespice – which seems like a perfectly fitting name to us.
Leigh Anne-Pinnock said she loves “the creativity and the drama” of Drag Race, adding that she is always amazed by the outfits.
“I can’t wait for the world to see the queens,” she said. ” love the Lip Sync battles!”
Meanwhile, Alesha Dixon said: “What is there not to love about Drag Race UK? The craziness… the costumes… the sassiness… the lip syncing! I love it all and I’m here for it.”

Drag Race UK fans have been eagerly awaiting the show’s return ever since the sickening line-up was Ru-vealed in August.
Season three is set to make Drag Race herstory by featuring the franchise’s first ever cis woman drag artist. Victoria Scone is expected to give the show a much-needed shake-up, and queer people can’t wait to see what she’ll bring to the show’s hallowed halls.
Meanwhile, Veronica Green is also set to make herstory as the first UK contestant to compete in two separate seasons after she had to bow out of season two following a positive COVID-19 test.
