Chart-topping rapper Lil Nas X says his “life has come full circle” after he was named Taco Bell’s “chief impact officer”.

Billboard broke the news about the partnership between the fast-food chain and the hip-hop artist on Monday (23 Monday). According to the outlet, Nas’ honorary role as chief impact officer will “play out with a menu of activities, collaborations and a company-wide push” for his upcoming album Montero.

Taco Bell even promised that Nas will be cooking up some new “menu innovations” for the American-based chain, which sounds fabulous.

Before he was creating hit songs and ripping his trousers on live TV, Nas worked as part of the Taco Bell team at an outlet in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2017.

The Grammy-winning rapper even gave fans a glimpse at this part of his life in his music video for “Sun Goes Down”. The video showed Lil Nas X visiting his teenage self, who is struggling with loneliness and his identity, working at a Taco Bell and taking classes at high school.

Nas even joked about revisiting this part of his life on Twitter. The rapper retweeted the Billboard article, adding: “life has come full circle, i officially work at taco bell again.”

Billboard reported that Nas will also team up with the Taco Bell Foundation – the charitable branch of the fast-food company – to recognise young creative talent through the Live Más Scholarship.

According to the Taco Bell Foundation’s website, the scholarship is aimed at young people who are pursuing higher education. It also is not a “one-off check” but a “continued partner and collaborator” relationship between the foundation and the scholarship’s recipients.

Taco Bell boss Mark King said in a statement that Lil Nas X “knows the job, the experience and the culture Taco Bell creates for its fans – including its people”.

“This unique partnership will deliver on more than just marketing, allowing us to tap into the genius of Lil Nas X to inspire our team members and align with our commitment to unlocking opportunities for young people,” King added.
