Queer Cocktails was compiled by queer author Lewis Laney who’s also penned The Little Book of Pride, to “celebrate queer culture and pay tribute to the great gay icons of our time.”

So what are some of the cocktail recipes you can put together to celebrate Pride all year round? Well there’s the Rocket Man in a nod to Elton John or Tequila Queen for Freddie Mercury.

There’s also a Fry Martini, in honour of Stephen Fry and The Land of Milk and Honey, inspired by gay pioneer Harvey Milk.

Other cocktails pay homage to gay icons including Bey’s Knees for Beyoncé, I Will Always Love Woo Woo for Whitney Houston, Bloody Mariah (Carey), La Isla Bonita Iced Tea inspired by Madonna and Cider Minelli for Liza.

During Pride Month a number of alcohol brands released special edition bottles of vodka, gin and more to celebrate the LGBT+ community.

This includes a berry-infused gin by Mór Irish Gin or the Spirit of Stonewall gin, both of which will donate funds to an LGBT+ charity all-year round.

Also available is a vodka bottle featuring Harvey Milk and one of his iconic quotes in support of the Harvey Milk Foundation, a Tom of Finland vodka bottle to preserve erotic art and educate the public and The Official Pride Gin which helps keep London Pride free for everyone.

So, you can elevate your queer cocktail even more with a spirit that helps raise vital funds for an LGBT+ charity.
