The Sex and the City reboot reveals continue apace and actually, maybe, it might turn out alright?

Three new actors are joining the heinously-named And Just Like That…: Empire’s Nicole Ari Parker, Luke Cake star Karen Pittman and Homeland’s Sarita Choudhury.

Parker will play Lisa Todd Wexley, documentarian and mother of three, with Choudhury playing “single, self-made powerhouse Manhattan real estate broker, Seema Patel”, according to Deadline.

It’s Pittman’s character who sounds most intriguing of all. She’ll star as Nya Wallace, a “brilliant, challenging Columbia Law professor” who, in our heart of hearts, we already know is Miranda’s new love interest.

“Everyone at And Just Like That… is thrilled to have these amazing and vibrant actors join the Sex and the City family,” executive producer Michael Patrick King said in a statement.

“Each of them will add their unique spark and big heart to these new characters and the stories we are about to tell.”

The 10-part reboot is currently filming in New York and will follow Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda as they navigate “the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s”.

What does that actually mean? God knows. Hopefully, we’ll see Charlotte finally loosening up, Miranda living the unabashedly queer life we all dreamed of for her, and Carrie – well, we’ll settle for her not being a completely awful human being. Baby steps and all that.

The OGs and their three new castmates will be joined by – no, not Kim Cattrall – Sara Ramírez, who’s playing an “outrageously funny” queer, non-binary podcast host.

We’ll also check in with Stanford (Willie Garson) and Anthony (Mario Cantone), as well as Steve (David Eigenberg), Charlotte’s husband Harry (Evan Handler), Mr Big (Chris Noth) and Aiden (John Corbett).
