Since Pabllo performed Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” on a local Brazilian talent show in 2014 she has become the most popular drag queen in the world.

She has twice as many Instagram followers as RuPaul, has more than 1 billion views on YouTube, has released four albums and three EPs and collaborated with Charli XCX, Rina Sawayama and Diplo.

The star is also very outspoken against the proudly homophobic president Jair Bolsonaro and the rise of the far-right in her native Brazil.

During his campaign she cut ties with companies that supported him, ended concerts by screaming the protest slogan “ele nao” (not him) and used her Instagram account to spread the message.

Recently she lent her voice to LGBT+ book We Can Do Better Than This, which features 35 prominent queer voices sharing their stories and visions for the future, with Pabllo pleading for the end of hate murders.

Her 2022 headline tour will also visit venues across North America and Europe including festival Primavera Sound in Spain which also boasts Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, Lorde and Big Freedia on its lineup.

Tickets for the UK and Ireland shows go on general sale at 10am on Friday (16 July) via Ticketmaster.
