Tomi Lahren makes surprise leap to defend Caitlyn Jenner from ‘despicable’ transphobia

Anti-trans Fox News host and Donald Trump fanatic Tomi Lahren has surprising leapt to defend Caitlyn Jenner from “despicable” transphobia.

Jenner, who is currently running as a conservative candidate for governor of California, was targeted with vile transphobic abuse when she attended the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Friday (9 July).

However on Monday (12 July), in an out-of-character move, Lahren jumped to Jenner’s defence.

She wrote on Twitter: “Hearing how some ‘conservatives’ treated Caitlyn Jenner at CPAC makes my blood boil.

“There’s no room for your hate in the America First movement. We believe in freedom and we believe in limited government.

“The way she chooses to live her personal life harms you in no way!”

As her right-wing followers began to turn on her, she doubled down and said in another tweet: “The attacks on Caitlyn Jenner are despicable.

“I’ll go to bat for her every single time and if you want to take my ‘conservative’ card for it, take it and shove it. Your mob is no better than the Left’s and in fact, it’s uglier.”

Despite her defence of Caitlyn Jenner, Tomi Lahren has a long history of anti-trans comments.

Despite her surprise defence of Caitlyn Jenner against Republican transphobia, Tomi Lahren – who once said Joe Biden “might as well carry a purse” because of his decision to wear a face mask – has a long history of anti-trans comments.

She has repeatedly defended Donald Trump’s ban on trans people serving in the US military, and tweeting in 2017: “The military is not a social experiment. Finally a POTUS who understands the concept. Political correctness = intellectual dishonesty!”

In a Facebook video the same year, she said that trans people have a “psychological condition” which would make the US military less “effective”.

In 2019, when Gillette released a heartwarming advert that showed a dad teaching his trans son to shave for the first time, Lahren wrote on Twitter: “The new Gillette ad features a transgender boy shaving for the first time.

“It’s a little much to normalize and promote high-school-aged kids undergoing hormone therapy and gender reassignment. Don’t ya think?”
