Billie Eilish’s boyfriend apologises for using vile racist and homophobic slurs

Billie Eilish’s boyfriend Matthew Tyler Vorce apologised Thursday (17 June) for using racist and homophobic slurs in years-old social media posts.
Vorce, a 29-year-old actor and writer from Los Angeles, used the N-word and described queer men as “f****ts” across several Facebook posts dated as far back as 2011, according to screenshots found by fans.
In 2017, he posted: “I’ll be celebrating Trump’s election by giving all my friends presidential erections. Take that, Pence!”
He also described Adele as “a British Miss Piggy” in 2012, the screenshots show, and a 2011 post featured a quote from serial killer Edmund Emil Kemper III.
“When I see a pretty girl walking down the street, I think two things,” the quote read. “One part wants me to take her out, talk to her, be real nice and sweet and treat her right.
“The other part of me wants to know what her head would look like on a stick.”
Amid backlash for the posts, Vorce took to his private Instagram page to apologise for the “irresponsible” and “offensive” language.

“I want to apologise for the things that I wrote on social media in the past,” the Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? actor said in a story.
“The language I used was hurtful and irresponsible and I understand how offensive those words are.
“Whether it was a lyric, a quote or just me being dumb, it does not matter.
“I am ashamed and deeply sorry that I used them in any context. It is not how I was raised and it is not what I stand for.
“I shouldn’t have used this language in the first place and I won’t use it again. I am so sorry for the hurt I have caused.
“I take full responsibility and continue to hold myself accountable for my actions.”
While Vorce’s apology appeared to confirm the authenticity of the Facebook posts, Billie Eilish had previously suggested her boyfriend’s posts were fake.

The “Bad Guy” singer reportedly liked an Instagram post that shrugged off the screenshots as “literally made up“, while Vorce’s friends suggested the post about Trump was “ironic“.
The controversy around Vorce comes just days after Eilish was embroiled herself in criticism. The 19-year-old was accused by fans of “queerbaiting” after the music video for “Lost Cause” saw her at a slumber party with women, dancing, eating whipped cream and rolling around.
She eventually responded to the simmering fault-finding with an Instagram post that simply read: “I love girls.”
