NYX Cosmetics say: “As Allies in 2021, we honor the LGBTQIA+ community of past, present and future by dedicating this year’s campaign to the underground ballroom culture of the 80s and 90s.

“It became a safe place for LGBTQIA+ to strut their proud artistry, express themselves, and celebrate.”

The collection features the Metal Play Pigment Palette, which includes six shades of vivid metals designed for “all the lights, camera, and action of the ballroom.”

There’s also Epic Wear Liner Sticks, with 24 matte and metallic shades to choose from which give 36 hours of waterproof and smudgeproof colour – ideal for any dancefloor.

Also in the collection is a Born to Glow Highlighter Duo, Epic Wear Liquid Liner, Shine Loud Lip Colour and XXL Matte Liquid Lipstick.

Prices of the products start at $8 going up to $15 and you can shop the range on the NYX Cosmetics website.

It sees them team up with ballroom stars of Los Angeles for the campaign including House of Milan’s Zerrick, House of West’s Felix, House of Ebony’s Isla, House of Balmain’s La’Don and 007 Daphne.

Each of the dancers appear in their own stand alone campaign video on the NYX Cosmetics Instagram, which sees them discuss the importance of makeup in the ballroom scene.

Daphne says, “in ballroom, makeup is a medium where we can all play and create fantasy worlds, while Felix adds, “makeup is a way to express yourself without even having to talk.”

As a ‘Proud Ally for All,’ NYX Professional Makeup has confirmed it will be donating over $100,000 to global Pride efforts, including a donation to the Los Angeles LGBT Center across the year.
