DC cuts scene of Batman performing oral sex because ‘heroes don’t do that’
DC removed a scene of Batman performing oral sex on Catwoman because “heroes don’t do that,” apparently, though a million female fans beg to differ.
The fandom was rocked by the news that DC Comics asked the makers of the animated series Harley Quinn to delete a moment that would’ve shown Batman going down on Catwoman.
Co-creator Justin Halpern told Variety: “In this third season of Harley [Quinn], we had a moment where Batman was going down on Catwoman. And DC was like, ‘You can’t do that. You absolutely cannot do that.’ They’re like, ‘Heroes don’t do that.’
“So, we said, ‘Are you saying heroes are just selfish lovers?’ They were like, ‘No, it’s that we sell consumer toys for heroes. It’s hard to sell a toy if Batman is also going down on someone.'”
The showrunner compared this to the freedom they have when writing villains, who are allowed to do things that “heroes” simply cannot do, according to DC anyway.
“It’s incredibly gratifying and free to be using characters that are considered villains because you just have so much more leeway,” Halpern said.
Halpern and his co-creator Patrick Schumacker went on to say that DC has been “supportive of their series and has allowed them to push the envelope numerous times”.
But it seems oral sex was just a step too far, though DC is presumably fine with heavily sexualising Catwoman at every opportunity over the last five decades.
The decision has baffled fans on social media, who struggled to imagine a canonical Batman who clearly f**ks but pleases no one.
One person joked: “This is outrageous. When they told us Batman traveled the world becoming a master of all skills I always assumed they meant all skills.”
So, Batman’s finally met a villain he couldn’t lick?

You mean to say Batman refuses to visit the Batcave?

Honestly, it’s 2021. We’re better than this nonsense. What we should be asking is if Batman eats ass
