Mariah Carey has taken to Twitter to deny rumours that she quit Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation over a “blazing row” with the rapper.

Last Friday (4 June), The Sun reported that Carey had “sensationally quit” the rapper’s company after they had a meeting about the future of her career that “did not go well at all”.

A source close to Mariah Carey told the publication: “She has made it clear she wants nothing more to do with him and has called it quits with Roc Nation,” adding that she would formally announce her departure from the label “in the next few weeks”.

Carey finally put speculation to bed on Monday (7 June), writing on Twitter: “The only ‘explosive’ situation I’d ever ‘get into’ with Hov (Jay-Z’s nickname) is a creative tangent, such as our #1 song ‘Heartbreaker’!!

“To the people who make up these lies I say ‘Poof! – Vamoose, sonofa*****’!” she added.

Carey shared a 30-second clip of the music video for “Heartbreaker”, her 1999 duet with Jay-Z, in a bid to prove to fans that their alleged feud is entirely fabricated.

Another source close to the star told PEOPLE that her alleged fight with Jay-Z was “completely made up” – but said that her relationship with Roc Nation has come to an end.

Mariah Carey and Jay-Z have reportedly parted ways ‘amicably’

However, the source said Carey and Jay-Z agreed to part ways “amicably” and the pair are “on great terms”.

“She’s now represented by Range where her former Roc Nation manager is a managing partner,” the source said.

Carey first signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation in 2017 after she parted ways with former manager Stella Bulochnikov.

She and Jay-Z have worked together on numerous occasions throughout the years – she was featured on his 1999 song “Things That U Do”, while Jay-Z appeared on her 2002 track “You Got Me”.

Jay-Z later appeared on a remix of her 2005 hit “Shake It Off”.
