Nintendo ‘Switch Pro’ may be revealed in the next few weeks, ahead of E3

According to a new report from Bloomberg, Nintendo could be releasing a new model of Switch – possibly named ‘Switch Pro’ – in September or October 2021.
Rumours are also circulating that not only could it be released around September or October, but that there will be an unveiling of the upgrade in July – ahead of this year’s E3 2021 games conference.
The report from Bloomberg claims that Nintendo is planning on launching a pro version to its four-year-old, wildly popular console, which was released in March 2017. Bloomberg alleges that sources are under the belief Nintendo is ready to release its upgraded replacement for the four-year-old Switch, and that it will likely be priced higher than the original, which cost $299 / £279 / AU$469.95.
Two weeks ago, they also announced the release of their latest Switch Lite console – Blue.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Nintendo is unable to physically make enough Switch consoles to keep up with demand at the moment due to a global semiconductor shortage. This was at around the same time Nintendo hosted their annual Indie World showcase, announcing all the upcoming titles that soon to be launched this year from Oxenfree II: Lost Signals to Cris Tales.
NME recently reported on the record profits and sales for Nintendo across 2020, with games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizon being their top sellers – revealing that operating profits had risen 82 per cent, to £4.2billion, whilst company revenue came in at the companies second-best, at £11.8billion.
