Years & Years star Olly Alexander has shared a mashup of Kylie Minogue’s “Love at First Sight” and his latest single “Starstruck”.

Alexander first dropped “Starstruck” in April, but he decided to re-release the track with vocals from the one-and-only Kylie Minogue on Friday (21 May) after she agreed to a duet.

Since then, the pair have been sharing their love for each other on Twitter – and Olly Alexander expressed his adoration by sitting down at his piano and creating a heartfelt mashup.

The gorgeous, 35-second long clip begins with Alexander singing the pre-chorus of Kylie’s 2002 single as he plays the piano.

Halfway through the video, he transitions into “Starstruck” – and Kylie was understandably overwhelmed.

“Olly Olly OLLY!!!!” the singer tweeted, alongside a string of heart and star emojis. “STARSTRUCK at first sight!!!!!” she continued, adding another string of emojis for good measure.

Fans were blown away by Alexander’s mashup – and some had suggestions for other Kylie classics he can reinvent.

“Please do this with ‘Spinning Around’,” one person commented on TikTok.

Another fan begged him to release a full version of the mashup, saying the combination of the songs sounds “ace”.

Another TikTok user commented: “This is my fave Kylie song and my fave mashup from this year. This is SO PERFECT. You are so PERFECT. Perfection.”

Twitter users were also quick to heap praise on the singer, while others just gushed about his adorable friendship with Kylie.

Olly Alexander’s mashup comes just a week after he gushed about Kylie Minogue in an adorable TikTok video where he revealed that the legendary singer had agreed to record vocals for a remix of his new single.

In the video, Alexander reflected on the first time he met Kylie when his band supported her on tour in 2015.

Moving through the years, Alexander recounted all the times he and Kylie Minogue have collided, including the time they duetted on “Better the Devil You Know” in 2016.

“She’s the best, I love her so much, I love you Kylie!” an understandably excited Alexander screamed in the TikTok.

Alexander and Kylie dropped the song just weeks after the singer confirmed Years & Years will continue as an “Olly Alexander solo project”, with former band members Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Turkmen leaving to pursue other projects.
