Lindsay Lohan to make acting comeback playing ‘spoiled heiress’ in Netflix rom-com

Lindsay Lohan is back – Netflix announced Monday (24 May) that the Mean Girls icon will make her acting return in a festive rom-com.
The 34-year-old has mostly shied away from the spotlight in recent years but is ready to restart her stalled acting career by starring in a yet-to-be-titled Netflix film.
The streaming giant tweeted: “Lindsay Lohan will star in a new romantic comedy about a newly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter after getting total amnesia in a skiing accident.”

Finally, representation for blue-collar lodge owners with precocious daughters who have always wanted to care for an amnesiac heiress. Nature really is healing.
The rest of the cast has yet to be announced at the time of writing. The film is slated to be directed and co-written by Janeen Damian (The Christmas Waltz) and will likely be ready for a Christmas 2022 release.

Lindsay Lohan vaulted herself into fame in the late 1990s and 2000s, fronting an array of Hollywood hitters including The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday.
Soon enough, she was one of the industry’s most sought-after talents. But her career stalled amid personal and legal struggles, including well-documented addiction issues.
Last year, Lohan announced her triumphant return to music, dropping both the teaser track “Xanax” and the lead single off a to-be-released album, “Back to Me”.
“Back to Me”, an electropop track of plinking beats and clubby bounces, was a rallying cry for Lohan. A song about bravely leaving the past behind, as she wrote in its lyrics: “My life is full of ripped up pages / I’ve been weak, contagious / But I’m comin’ back, I’m comin’ back to me”.
