Gay porn star tragically dies aged 22: ‘We are heartbroken’

Alex Riley

Adult performer Alex Riley has tragically died aged 22, leaving his loved ones and fans “heartbroken” over the loss of a “vibrant and talented” performer.

The award-winning performer was known mostly for his work with the gay porn company Helix Studios. Helix confirmed the dreadful news in a statement on its website. The studio wrote: “We are heartbroken over the loss of Alex Riley, one of the most vibrant and talented young performers we’ve ever had the privilege to work with.”

Helix also asked fans to respect his family’s privacy “during this devastatingly difficult time”. The statement ended: “We love you, rest in peace Alex”.

Riley worked exclusively for Helix Studios since 2019, but he had appeared in scenes for NextDoor and FraternityX. According to AVN, Riley is credited with more than 50 scenes since 2018, and more than half of these were for Helix.

Jacob Hansen, another performer, tweeted that he learned the tragic news that Riley passed away “early Sunday morning” (9 May) after receiving a phone call from Riley’s best friend. He wrote: “Rest in peace babe you will always be part of me no matter where my life takes me.”

Hansen shared photos of the two men, and Out reported Hansen and Riley were in a longtime relationship.

Other performers shared their memories of Alex Riley, with many commenting about the young man’s positive energy.

AVN reported Riley was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and reportedly wanted to be involved in the adult film industry from a young age. The website said Riley started camming during his education at Texas State University in San Marcos.

Str8UpGayPorn reported that Riley moved to California in 2018 and then Arizona in 2020. He was nominated as Best Newcomer at the Str8UpGayPorn Awards, and in January 2020, Riley won GayVN’s Best Newcomer award.

The cause of Alex Riley’s death has yet to be made public.
