Tearful Lady Gaga celebrates fans with floral tribute as she wraps House of Gucci

Lady Gaga gives fans flowers as she wraps House of Gucci

A tearful Lady Gaga gave flowers to her fans as she thanked Italy for “cheering her on” after House of Gucci wrapped up filming.

Gaga bid goodbye to Rome after spending two months in the city filming the upcoming Ridley Scott movie about the murder-for-hire of Maurizio Gucci, the former head of the Gucci fashion house.

The “Stupid Love” hitmaker, real name Stefani Germanotta, appeared visibly upset – her eyes bleary and her cheeks wet – as she departed the Baglioni Hotel Regina holding a glass vase of flowers.

Before boarding her car to leave the hotel, she walked up to the throng of euphoric fans to throw tulips at their feet on the cobblestone street, prompting a mad rush as fans leapt to grab them.

Later taking to Twitter on Sunday afternoon (9 May), Lady Gaga reflected on the months-long experience of playing Patrizia Reggiani, Gucci’s ex-wife and heir to the leather goods fortune, who ordered the murder.

“I wish to thank all of Italy for cheering me on while I film this movie – I hug and kiss you, tell you I believe in you,” she wrote.

“Prayers to my place of origin – a country built on the promise of hard work and family. I hope I made you proud. I’m proud to be Italian. Ti Amo.”

The Oscar-winner confirmed on Instagram that filming had finished, uploading a poignant photograph of her pounding fists with the movie’s director.

“That’s a wrap, Rid,” she wrote.

Her departure capped off a tumultuous time for the 35-year-old, who was hundreds of miles away from Los Angeles, California, when her beloved dogs were stolen and her dog walker shot earlier this year.

Lady Gaga had only just touched ground in Italy two days before Ryan Fischer was left bleeding in Hollywood after a group of men shot him and took two of her three French bulldogs. Gaga confirmed that she was offering a hefty $500,000 award for the dogs’ safe return, “no questions asked”.

Five suspects have since been apprehended in connection to the dognapping and shooting, with representatives of the singer picking up the pups from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Olympic Community Police Station after being returned.
