Is Rambo coming to Call of Duty: Warzone?

Rumours are flying around after a tweet from the Call of Duty account with stats on a new mystery character.

“Does anyone know SURVIVORJOHN#1009062?” asks the tweet, with stats from their kill sheet.

Twitter user EricMaynardII, Call of Duty fan, did some digging into the stats and matched them with Rambo, played by Sylvester Stallone.

There have been five Rambo films that roughly add up to seven hours, matching the stats in the tweet.

Most specific of all is that Rambo’s kill count in the movies is also 552.

This was then shared by the charlieINTEL Twitter account, also adding that Rambo’s first name is John James Rambo just like SURVIVORJOHN.

Adding fuel to the fire is another tweet from fan TheBrogram_ from 28 April, in which he asks the Call of Duty team if any 80s action heroes will appear in the game.

Their response:

After a big nuke event, the latest season of Warzone includes a refreshed Verdansk map set in 1984.

That’s in reference to previous release Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. But could we now see 80s heroes like Rambo, the Terminator, Chuck Norris or The A Team appearing in the game?

It wouldn’t be the first time popular characters have appeared in Warzone. For Halloween in 2020 the game had the Haunting Of Verdansk event in which players could unlock skins for Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Jigsaw from Saw.

Rambo would certainly fit with the 80s militaristic setting.

A Rambo cameo would further bring the online battle royale in-line with its key rival, Fortnite. There players can purchase skins for a whole host of popular characters from films and games, including 80s icons like Ripley from Alien and Ghostbusters characters, as well as Star Wars, Marvel and DC characters.
