Drag Race winner Symone gives Lizzo a birthday surprise she’ll never forget

RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Symone turned up to surprise Lizzo for her birthday, and the video evidence is a joy to behold.

Symone – who was crowned winner on the 13th season of the show last week – made a special appearance at the “Juice” singer’s birthday celebrations on Tuesday (27 April), and they instantly hit it off.

Both Lizzo and Symone shared the incredible moment the two divas collided on Instagram.

In a video recorded in a hotel lobby in Las Vegas, Symone exudes power and grace as she strides towards Lizzo while RuPaul’s 1992 hit “Supermodel (You Better Work)” plays in the background.

The pair promptly share a tight embrace while Lizzo congratulates Symone on her Drag Race victory.

Lizzo and Symone meeting is the best moment of the year so far

Symone shared the heartfelt moment on her Instagram Stories, writing: “Thank you for having me! Love you diva!”

The drag icon was still processing the moment hours later. Sharing a snap of herself and Lizzo hugging, she wrote: “Still can’t believe!!”

The video quickly made its way to Twitter, and it’s fair to say that fans are obsessed.

The extraordinary moment comes just days after Symone was crowned winner on the latest season of Drag Race.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Symone said she was aware from the get-go that RuPaul was a fan of hers.

“She’s not one to hide her emotions, I’ll tell you that,” Symone explained.

“So, I was very much aware of how she felt about me, and it just made me be like, ‘I’m going to go on this runway, I’m about to turn it. I’m about to do this challenge.’ Except that one. But other than that, it just made me more invigorated to be like, ‘Let’s do it. Let’s turn it. Let’s make her proud. I want to see that smile, baby. I want to see her light up.'”

Symone was beloved by Drag Race fans during the show’s latest season for her empowering runway looks, which often made important statements about issues affecting the LGBT+ community.
