JoJo Siwa tearfully opens up about being forced apart from girlfriend: ‘It’s very, very, very hard’

YouTube star JoJo Siwa has fans tearing up after sharing her emotional reaction to saying goodbye to her long-distance girlfriend.
In a series of posts on her Instagram Stories, Siwa explained that she is in a long-distance relationship with her girlfriend, Kylie Prew, and that she finds it hard to say goodbye.
The 17-year-old shared a tearful selfie on Monday (26 April) with the caption: “I. Don’t. Like. Saying. Goodbye” along with a crying face emoji.
Siwa explained in a series of videos how being separated from Prew takes a toll on her. She reassured her fans that “nothing happened” between the couple, but they are “long-distance” and “had to say goodbye today” so she’s sad.
“It happens every time we say goodbye, and I wish we didn’t have to ever,” Siwa said. “But we do, and it makes when we get to say hi to each other even more special.”
Siwa said the couple will have to stay long-distance for “a lot longer”, and she wanted to explain the situation after her initial post because she knew her fans were “all panicking for a second”.
She added: “But no need to panic. The reality of long-distance, it’s very, very, very hard, but it’s the most worth it ever.”
The emotional goodbye comes after Siwa shared adorable photos and videos of her trip to Disneyland with her girlfriend. She shared a picture of herself and Prew cuddling in Toy Story‘s Buzz Lightyear masks with the caption: “I love you to infinity and beyond”.

The YouTube star came out in January after she posted a photo of herself wearing a t-shirt with the words “best gay cousin ever”. She was immediately praised by countless celebrities – including Michelle Visage, Adam Rippon and Sir Ian McKellen – for living as her authentic self.
In February, Siwa revealed she has a girlfriend and explained how she was encouraged to come out by the “most amazing, wonderful, perfect, most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world”. Siwa has been open about their relationship on social media in the months since, sharing countless adorable pictures.
