A Janet Jackson documentary from the makers of Framing Britney Spears is reportedly in the works.

Framing Britney Spears has captured the world’s attention with its sobering look at the pop princess’ life, from the belligerent treatment she suffered from a hounding press to her contented conservatorship.

Now, the same production company behind the bombshell documentary is reportedly working on a new film that will examine the mistreatment of Janet Jackson after her 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, sources told Page Six.

Left/Right TV are reportedly going to dive deep into the fallout that derailed Jackson’s career after the performance, which ended with Justin Timberlake tearing away part of Jackson’s costume to reveal her breast.

The ensuing backlash dented Jackson’s career for years. MTV and other radio and video outlets blacklisted her music, while the Grammys withdrew an invitation to perform.

Sources told Page Six that the company are contacting both television heads at MTV and CBS, the networks that produced and broadcast the game respectively, as well as Jackson’s Super Bowl team.

“It’s going to be all about the fallout and the suits who f****d over Janet [at] Viacom,” the source claimed.

“They’re reaching out to everyone who was involved: dancers, stylists, directors. Everyone.”

One of Jacksons’ Super Bowl stylists has previously claimed that the supposed gaffe was Timerblake’s handiwork. The “wardrobe malfunction” was allegedly part of a plan to “outdo” Spears, among other female pop stars, the stylist claimed.

Insiders, however, remain dubious about whether Janet Jackson documentary will get the star’s blessing – she’s actually working on her own two-part film to mark the 40th anniversary of her debut album.

“They did the Britney doc without [Spears],” the source said, “and there’s been more interest in the Super Bowl since that documentary premiered and Justin apologised to [both Spears and Jackson].”

In the wake of Framing Britney Spears, Timberlake issued a vague, long-overdue but earnest apology to both Spears and Jackson.

“I specifically want to apologise to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed,” he said.
