Tucker Carlson slammed by Harvey Milk club over apparent support for his assassin: ‘Dear Mr Carlson, f**k you’

Fox News host Tucker Carlson

The Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club has responded to Tucker Carlson’s membership of the “Dan White Society” with two simple words.

The Fox News host’s 1991 yearbook was unearthed last week, and showed that his anti-LGBT+ views began long before he made it onto a TV screen.

Next to his photo in the yearbook, that his school, Trinity College, confirmed to The Wrap was authentic, Carlson is listed as a member of the “Dan White Society”.

White is the man who murdered Harvey Milk, one of the first openly gay elected officials in the history of the US and the very first openly LGBT+ person to hold public office in California.

In response the Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club, one of San Francisco’s largest Democratic clubs and “a place for people to be political, left, and queer” which was named after the LGBT+ pioneer after his assassination, had just two words for Carlson.

The club, which says it “demand nothing less than full support for queer rights and nothing less than full support for progressive issues”, wrote in a letter shared on Twitter: “Dear Mr Carlson, F**k you.

“Sincerely, the Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club.”

One Twitter user replied: “Brevity is indeed the soul of wit…and sometimes it’s all you need.”

In his yearbook, Carlson also listed himself as a member of the “Jesse Helms Foundation”.

Helms was a viciously anti-LGBT+ former North Carolina senator, fought against federally funded HIV/ AIDS research insisting the disease came from the “unnatural” and “disgusting” behaviour of homosexuals, who he thought were “weak, morally sick wretches”, and even voted against the confirmation of late Supreme Court judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who he described as supporting the “homosexual agenda”.

“Nothing positive happened to Sodom and Gomorrah and nothing positive is likely to happen to America if our people succumb to the drumbeats of support for the homosexual lifestyle,” Helms once said.
