Wicked is returning to the London’s West End in 2021 and tickets go on sale very soon.

The hugely popular musical will reopen from 15 September at London‘s Apollo Victoria Theatre.

Theatre goers will be able to catch the show every week between Tuesdays and Sundays, with a brand new Sunday matinee confirmed.

Tickets for the new dates will go on sale from 17 May via London Theatre Direct, Love Theatre and Ticketmaster.

The show – if you didn’t already know – tells an alternate story of Oz as it follows the popular Glinda and misunderstood Elphaba.

The pair meet at school and get off to a bumpy start before forming a strong friendship and while on a journey to meet the Wizard of Oz their lives take very different paths.

Glinda is lured into a powerful and pubic role while Elphaba remains determined to be true to herself and the people in her life, whatever the cost – both paths seeing them fulfil their destinies as Glinda the Good and The Wicked Witch of the West.

This all takes place against a soundtrack featuring beloved songs including “The Wizard and I”, “Popular” and “Defying Gravity”, stunning costumes and spectacular sets.

Michael McCabe, executive producer of UK production of Wicked said: “After the challenging year faced by everyone in our company, we are grateful to them for their resilience and patience and delighted that we can at last get back to telling this extraordinary story again.

“We look forward to audiences returning to Oz and to creating more unforgettable memories for everyone.”

Since its West End debut in 2006 the musical has already become the ninth longest-running show in London theatre history and has toured across the UK and Ireland.

It’s been seen by more than 10 million people in the city alone and has won two Olivier Awards and 10 WhatsOnStage Awards including ‘Best West End show’ on three separate occasions.

Tickets for Wicked in the West End go back on sale from 17 May via London Theatre Direct, Love Theatre and Ticketmaster.
