Queer Eye’s Fab Five crash the Oscars to give red carpet host Karamo Brown an adorable surprise

The Queer Eye cast crashed the Oscars red carpet on Sunday (25 April) as Karamo Brown was covering it for E!.

Brown, 40, blushed, fawned and screamed as a television monitor behind him beamed with the four other members of the Fab Five – and you absolutely can guess which of them got the most dressed up for it.

Jonathan Van Ness donned a stunning hot pink dress and seemingly never-ending curly hair for the video call from what appeared to be his living room. Antoni Porowski wore a plain white t-shirt.

Held some two months later than usual, Brown was reporting on the 93rd Academy Awards for its scaled-down, in-person event split between Hollywood and Los Angeles.

“Oh, my babies!” Brown screamed when Porowski, Van Ness, Tan France and Bobby Berk appeared via Zoom for a surprise chat. “Hi, gorgeous babies!”

Interior design expert Berk was quick to speak on behalf of the group on how “proud” they are that Brown was covering what became a historic Oscars night.

Soon enough, Karamo, who is the Netflix show’s culture expert, swapped lifestyle tips for scalding fashion swipes as he briefly commented on what the four Queer Eye stars decided to wear for the virtual red carpet.

He called Porowski’s, er, minimal number a “fashion chic t-shirt” while Berk in a black vest and baseball cap gave “fitness realness”.

The mini-reunion comes while the Fab Five are resuming filming in season six of Queer Eye in Austin, Texas after it was paused amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Don’t miss your flight back,” food expert Porowski, who is also an expert on choking, said to Brown. “Because we’re still filming.

“We’re waiting for you. We can’t do the show without you.”

“Don’t go to too many afterparties tonight, OK?” he added. “Drink a lot of water.”

The five had been filming in Austin last year before the pandemic ground production to a screeching halt with just a single episode wrapped up

“Let’s try this again y’all! ?” they wrote in a caption on the official Queer Eye Instagram Saturday (24 April).

“We’re SO EXCITED to step our cowboy boots back in Austin to film Queer Eye: Texas! ?

“Can’t wait to bring more smiles (and tears) to your faces! ??✨”.
